The Salvation Army calls its churches 'corps'. Our churches or corps are based on the Christian Bible and our church services generally include music (or 'worship'), sharing together, teaching from the Bible and more. We also offer a range of programmes and activities for different ages and groups, especially kids and youth.
One of our values as an organisation is to offer a place to belong. Our churches are for everyone - you are welcome and have a place! You don't need to believe to belong, come as you are!
Our mission statement is to care for people, transform lives and reform society by God's power. A big part of who we are is partnering with people and organisations to bring life - we want the world to be a better place. We love to roll up our sleeves, come alongside people and communities, and work toward positive change. You may have heard about our range of social services (food parcels, budgeting advice, housing, emergency response etc.) as well as our Family Stores - we do all of this because we love God and love others.
